Punta Arenas officials plan Antarctic scientific expedition

Claudio Radonich, the mayor of Punta Arenas, met with Ximena Lincolao, the Minister of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation, to discuss strengthening the city's role in Antarctic development. The meeting focused on a strategic action plan to position the regional capital as a global scientific hub.

A key component of this plan is a scientific expedition to Antarctica scheduled to take place before the end of the year. The mission will include scientists and some civilians, aiming to link scientific research more closely with the territory and consolidate Chile's presence on the continent.
