Punta Cana Airport Records Over 30,000 Operations in First Four Months of 2026

During January‑April 2026 the Punta Cana International Airport logged 30,636 take‑offs and landings, accounting for about 38 % of all air movements in the Dominican Republic. Across the national system there were 79,686 operations and 7.6 million passengers, connecting the country with 74 destinations. The United States was the top market, followed by Canada, Puerto Rico, Panama and Colombia.

In the week of 8‑14 June 2026 the airport scheduled 743 international flights, a 3.6 % increase over the previous week’s 717 flights. The busiest origin cities were New York (152 flights), Toronto (102), Miami (84), Montreal (52) and Bogotá (46). Growth was driven by stronger demand from Canada, more European tourists, expanded South‑American links and a shift of travelers who formerly flew to Cuba, underscoring Punta Cana’s resilience during the Caribbean’s low‑season period.
