Punta Giglio association requests investigation into land use in Porto Conte Park

The association ‘Punta Giglio Libera’ has filed a formal complaint with the Forest Corps and the Municipality of Alghero regarding land use within the Porto Conte Park and the Natura 2000 network. The group alleges that an area cleared for a firebreak under a July 2026 SUAPE authorization has instead been converted into a parking area covered with granular material.

The association has requested an urgent inspection to verify if the works comply with environmental, forestry, and building regulations. Additionally, they have submitted a request for generalized civic access to the Municipality of Alghero to review the complete administrative and technical files, including the original site conditions and the necessity of the firebreak.
