Puntallana urban center undergoes remodeling via PIDL investment

The Cabildo de La Palma is utilizing the Local Development Plan (PIDL) to transform the urban center of Puntallana. An investment of 717,757 euros is being directed toward urban improvements on Atabara Street, spanning from Calle José Fernández Medina to Calle Procesiones.

These works include paving and asphalt installation on one of the town's most heavily trafficked roads, which provides access to essential services such as the pharmacy, medical center, supermarket, and town hall. The project aims to improve communication lines, electrical conduction, street lighting, and the creation of parking spaces.

Additional PIDL funding includes 308,500 euros for the rehabilitation of the 18th-century heritage building, Casa Méndez, and 256,562 euros for traffic reorganization and urbanization near the Ermita de San Bartolomé. President Sergio Rodríguez noted that the PIDL program, which involves a 40 million euro distribution agreed upon by 14 municipalities, is vital for the development of rural towns on the island.
