Puntland Accuses Galmudug of Allowing Federal Militia Transit

Puntland's regional administration warned neighboring Galmudug that its airports and territory were being used to move militia and military supplies allegedly organized by Somalia's federal government, posing a direct threat to Puntland's security. The statement urged Galmudug to halt any such passage and to prioritize good‑neighborly security cooperation.

The warning follows recent clashes between Puntland‑aligned forces and units linked to the federal government in the Laag area near Bosaso, where Puntland seized dozens of vehicles and captured about 30 fighters. Puntland also flagged military maneuvers by federal forces in the central town of Galkayo, a strategically important area divided between the two states, warning that further buildup could provoke open confrontation.
