Puppetry and form festivals held in Toruń and Wrocław

The 32nd International Festival of Puppet and Form Theatres, ‘Spotkania’, recently concluded in Toruń. Following a series of competitive performances, several juries—including professional, children's, ZASP, and POLUNIMA—announced their winners. Notable awards included Best Male Role for David Faraco in ‘Quacksalver’, Best Female Role for Ewa Mrówczyńska in ‘Nie skakać na bombę!’, and Best Scenography for Michał Dracz for ‘Wielki Zły Lis’. Other honors were awarded for best music and direction.

Additionally, the 17th International Puppet School Festival, METAFORMY 2026, is scheduled to take place in Wrocław from October 27 to 30. Organized by the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Kraków, the festival focuses on the achievements of students, graduates, and educators in puppet and form theatre. The event is expected to host approximately 150 participants, including nearly 90 international artists from countries such as Switzerland, Finland, Germany, and the United Kingdom, featuring performances, workshops, and interdisciplinary installations.
