Pupuk Indonesia Distributes 94.2 Tons of Subsidized Fertilizer to South Sulawesi Fish Farmers

PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) organized a two‑day "Rembuk Petambak dan Tebus Bersama" event on 22–23 July 2026 in the South Sulawesi regencies of Maros, Barru and Pangkajene and Kepulauan. The meetings aimed to educate fish‑farmers on the management of government‑subsidised fertilizer and to accelerate its redemption.

Around 200 participating fish‑farmers redeemed a total of 94.2 tonnes of subsidised fertilizer, intended for species such as bandeng, udang vaname, udang windu, nila, gurame, ikan mas, lele and patin. Director of Asset Management Tri Wahyudi Saleh said the programme supports the government's goal of boosting aquaculture productivity in the province and requires collaboration among local authorities, distribution firms, point‑of‑sale agents and extension workers. Transactions were facilitated through the i‑Pubers application at official kiosks.

The event forms part of a broader government initiative to expand the use of subsidised inputs in the fisheries sector and to improve yields for registered farming groups in South Sulawesi.
