Pupuk Kaltim converts agricultural waste into biogas in East Java

Pupuk Kaltim is implementing the Integrated Agroenergy System-Based Integrated Area Development (PKT BISA) program in Kepuhrejo Village, Magetan, East Java. The initiative utilizes agricultural and livestock waste to produce biogas, supporting local farming, MSMEs, and household energy needs.

According to Pupuk Kaltim CEO Rafli Yandra, the program employs a circular economy approach to connect agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and compost production into a single ecosystem. The generated biogas is used for drying agricultural products, productive MSME activities, and providing energy for vulnerable households. This system aims to reduce environmental pollution and emissions from organic waste while providing a sustainable economic resource for the community.
