Northwestern football clinches bowl eligibility with win over Rutgers
No. 24 Northwestern secured bowl eligibility for the second consecutive year following a 42-14 victory against Rutgers. The Wildcats established dominance early, recording a 28-point first-half lead. Senior wide receiver Griffin Wilde led the offensive effort with 133 receiving yards and nine receptions, including a 30-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Aidan Chiles.
Running back Caleb Komolafe contributed significantly to the win, rushing for 150 yards on 13 carries. Chiles also added a rushing touchdown, marking his eighth rushing score of the season. The defensive unit was highlighted by senior defensive end Michael Kilbane, who recorded a strip sack.
