Pure Lithium ramps up 500 MWh solid‑state battery line in China

Pure Lithium New Energy, a Beijing‑based startup backed by Yizhuang State Investment, announced that its 500 MWh solid‑state battery production line in Henan has reached full operating capacity. The first‑generation cells use lithium‑iron‑phosphate cathodes and graphite anodes, delivering 180–190 Wh/kg, with plans to exceed 200 Wh/kg in a next‑generation line slated for gigawatt‑hour scale later this year. The company also demonstrated that cut cells can continue to supply power, highlighting safety advantages.

In parallel, Pure Lithium is conducting a pilot battery‑swap project for electric scooters, deploying 1,500 solid‑state batteries, 1,000 vehicles and 100 swap stations. The initiative aims to boost range up to 100 km, far above the 30–50 km typical of liquid‑electrolyte packs. Meanwhile, Chinese automaker Arcfox introduced the S3 sedan, designed with a battery‑swap system to cut charging times, underscoring a broader industry push in China toward rapid‑swap solutions for electric mobility.
