Puri police review security for Kartika Brata pilgrims

Inspector General of Police, Central Range, Dr Satyajit Nayak, has reviewed security preparations in Puri for the upcoming Kartika Brata religious period. The inspection focused on ensuring the safety and convenience of Habisyali devotees during their month-long observance.

To secure three designated accommodation centres, five police platoons will be deployed round the clock from October 26 to November 24, 2026. Additionally, more than 20 platoons will be stationed across Puri to manage temple security, crowd control, and traffic regulation.

Authorities aim to maintain public order and facilitate smooth movement for pilgrims while strengthening coordination between police and other agencies. Measures include enhanced surveillance at accommodation sites and the operation of control rooms to monitor the security situation and respond to emergencies.
