Purina Dog Chow to feature service dog float in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Purina Dog Chow is participating in the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with a new float titled ‘Salute to Service Dogs.’ The float is designed to honor the brand’s 100-year history and highlight the impact of service dogs on veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The float will feature large dog sculptures and puppets depicting a service dog graduation ceremony. Special guests appearing on the float include Navy veteran Andy Canning and his service dog, Arkum. This appearance marks the first year of a three-year marketing commitment by the brand.

As part of the initiative, Purina will engage in a social media campaign where it will donate $1 per post, up to $30,000, to the Service Dog Salute program. Since 2018, the program has donated over $2 million to organizations that train service dogs for veterans.
