Puripol Boonson named Men's MVP at Asian Games
Thai sprinter Puripol Boonson has been named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for men at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The award was officially presented at the Media Center on October 4.
Boonson secured his MVP status following a dominant performance in track events, winning gold medals in both the 100-meter and 200-meter sprints. In the 100-meter final, he set a new Asian Games record with a time of 9.90 seconds. In the 200-meter event, he clocked 19.88 seconds, matching the Asian record and marking his first time running the distance in under 20 seconds. He also earned a silver medal in the 4x100-meter mixed relay.
The female MVP award was presented to 13-year-old Chinese swimmer Yu Zidi, who won three gold medals in the 200-meter butterfly, 200-meter individual medley, and 400-meter individual medley, setting multiple Asian and youth world records during the competition.
