Purwakarta residents turn closed roads into culinary tourism sites

In Purwakarta, residents of the Griya Asri housing complex have transformed closed access roads into a culinary tourism site. The decision to block several roads was an effort to prevent motorcycle thefts, which saw over a dozen vehicles stolen in the last two months.

Local housewives have utilized the restricted areas to set up food stalls, turning a security measure into a productive economic opportunity. RT 08 head Agus Rifai noted that the initiative provides residents with additional income while maintaining the security benefits of the road closures. While most access points remain closed to traffic, two main gates will stay open for residents.
