Pushkar Singh Dhami criticizes opposition over voter list revision

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has criticized the Congress party and the INDIA alliance for their opposition to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. Dhami accused the opposition of spreading misinformation and exhibiting double standards, noting that similar revision processes occurred during previous Congress administrations without objection.

Dhami stated that the primary goal of the SIR is to ensure voter lists are accurate, transparent, and error-free, guaranteeing that every eligible citizen is included. He emphasized that the Election Commission of India is a constitutional body responsible for maintaining the fairness and credibility of the electoral process.

The Chief Minister further alleged that the opposition's stance reflects political frustration and an attempt to divert attention from their own failures by creating distrust in constitutional institutions.
