Pushkar Singh Dhami criticizes Rahul Gandhi over caste remarks

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi following comments regarding caste-based discrimination in tea service. The controversy arose after Gandhi claimed that during his travels, he observed caste-based disparities where Dalit individuals were served tea in disposable cups while others were provided with glass or ceramic cups.

Responding to these remarks during a visit to Khatima, Chief Minister Dhami stated that searching for caste and politics in a cup of tea represents the ‘pinnacle of narrow politics.’ Dhami noted that when he drinks tea with local residents, he experiences only the taste and the sense of community, rather than seeing caste distinctions. He remarked that while a cup may be disposable, one’s mindset should not be so disposable that it seeks to divide society. Dhami emphasized that Uttarakhand’s culture is rooted in social harmony and brotherhood, advocating for politics that unites rather than divides.
