Pustec Municipality faces critical infrastructure and road investment shortages

Residents of the Pustec Municipality in North Macedonia are reporting a significant lack of infrastructure investment, specifically regarding the poor condition of local roads. This lack of maintenance is cited as a primary obstacle to the economic and tourism development of the Mala Prespa region.

Despite the area's high natural potential as part of the Prespa National Park, many road segments remain heavily deteriorated, hindering both residents and visitors. While various projects and international funding—including environmental and sustainable development support from Germany—have been mentioned over the years, residents claim the impact on daily life remains limited.

Locals are calling for greater transparency regarding how funds have been utilized and are demanding a concrete rehabilitation plan for the road network to ensure that regional development translates into tangible benefits for the community.
