Pusztaszabolcs: Youths rescue residents from apartment fire

A fire broke out in a 50-square-meter apartment in Pusztaszabolcs on Friday, rendering the property uninhabitable and causing damage to the unit above.

Three local youths—Apáti Pityuka, Szilágyi Krisztián, and Garamszegi Tibor—intervened to rescue an elderly woman and her son from the burning building. Both victims sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital for observation. A fourth individual, Marcell Tóth, assisted arriving firefighters at the scene.

Mayor László Tüke praised the bravery of the youths and noted that the municipality has offered assistance to the affected residents. Professional and volunteer firefighters, along with police and medical teams, responded to the incident.
