Putignano Carnival 2027 selects seven allegorical floats

Seven allegorical floats have been selected for the 2027 edition of the Carnevale di Putignano. The theme for the event is ‘Smascherata! Liberate le maschere’ (Unmasked! Free the masks), developed under the philosophical and cultural direction of Andrea Colamedici.

The selected projects, submitted by various paper-mâché associations, explore the concept of daily social masks—such as those worn by influencers, perfect parents, or model employees—and the act of revealing one's true self. The floats will utilize theatrical elements like rotating platforms, curtains, and falling masks to engage the audience.

The seven participating projects include ‘Il Collezionista di Maschere’ by Carta Bianca, ‘Anime oscure’ by Carta & Colore, ‘Dis-illudi-amo-ci’ by Cartaland, ‘Appesi a un filo’ by Carteinregola, ‘L’ultima Smascherata’ by Conlemani, ‘Emerald City’ by Farinella, and ‘L’Elefante nella stanza’ by L’Isola che non c’è.
