Putin and Erdoğan to meet in Kyrgyzstan for SCO summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting on September 1 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The meeting will take place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.

According to Kremlin foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov, the discussions will focus on the conflict in Ukraine, security in the Black Sea, and the strengthening of economic and commercial ties between Russia and Turkey.

In addition to the meeting with Erdoğan, Putin is scheduled to participate in a dense diplomatic program during the summit. This includes meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping on August 31 and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on September 1. Other planned bilateral meetings involve leaders from India, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Mongolia.
