Putin claims Russia is moving toward ending Ukraine conflict

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Monday that Russia is moving toward ending the conflict in Ukraine. He made these remarks during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.

In a separate meeting in Kyrgyzstan, Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed the Ukrainian situation, though the Kremlin noted it was not the primary focus of their talks.

Simultaneously, Russia has conducted five consecutive days of drone attacks on Kyiv and surrounding areas. These strikes, which include many jet-powered drones, have caused significant disruption to daily life for millions. In Kyiv, recent morning strikes injured four people and damaged warehouses, a residential building, and a retail store.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched approximately 1,500 drones over a four-day period, aiming to break the morale of the Ukrainian people. Additionally, in the Odesa region, Russian strikes caused a fire at a Nova Poshta postal service station.
