Putin sends congratulations to Trump for US 250th Independence Day

Russian President Vladimir Putin, joined by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in some versions, sent a telegram to U.S. President Donald Trump marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence Day. The message highlighted the historical alliance of Russia and the United States in both World Wars, expressed support for a balanced multipolar world, and urged continued dialogue to ensure global security.

The congratulatory note was reproduced in a wave of press releases across Europe and Latin America, appearing in German, Czech, Romanian, Portuguese, Bulgarian, Turkish, Macedonian, Brazilian and other media outlets. It arrived while Russia‑U.S. relations remain strained over the conflict in Ukraine, making the gesture a symbolic attempt to temper tensions.
