Putin says Russia‑China economic partnership expands at St Petersburg forum

Russian President Vladimir Putin met Chinese Vice‑President Han Zheng on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum. Putin highlighted a stable 10 percent rise in bilateral trade and said the partnership is a “good achievement”. He listed joint work in energy, agriculture, civilian nuclear power, transport, industry, logistics, artificial intelligence and space technology.

The leaders also referenced the 25‑year‑old “Good‑Neighbourly and Friendly Cooperation” treaty and noted that total Russia‑China trade is approaching $250 billion. Putin stressed growing collaboration in AI, information technology, biology and genetics, describing the relationship as based on mutual benefit and not aimed at any third party.
