Putin suggests Western companies may reclaim seized Russian assets

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at the Valdai Discussion Club that Western companies may be able to reclaim their assets in Russia if a “favorable scenario” occurs. Putin characterized Russia's recent actions as a response to Western nations seizing Russian assets, specifically citing examples in Germany.

Russia has previously issued decrees to place certain European companies, including Nestlé and Auchan, under temporary management by state-controlled entities. This move follows the withdrawal of many Western corporations from the Russian market due to the conflict in Ukraine. While some firms like Nestlé have scaled back operations and advertising, others like Auchan have maintained retail systems to provide essential goods.
