Putin tells Kim Jong Un that Russia-North Korea ties have reached an unprecedented level
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on the occasion of North Korea’s Liberation Day. Putin stated that the relationship between Moscow and Pyongyang has reached an unprecedented high level of comprehensive strategic partnership.

In Pyongyang, Kim Jong Un paid respects at the Liberation Tower to honor Soviet soldiers who fought against Japan during World War II. Kim described the military friendship and “blood ties” between the two countries as a cornerstone for their developing bilateral relations.
