Putnam County authorities arrest several following bar fights and DWI enforcement

Law enforcement officers in Putnam County, New York, made multiple arrests following a series of incidents at La Cantina Loca Restaurant/Bar in the Town of Southeast.

On August 9, 2026, deputies responded to a large fight involving the alleged assault of an employee. This resulted in the arrests of Erik Felipe Romero, 29, and Elsa Pic Sisimit, 37, both of Carmel, NY, on charges including third-degree assault and obstructing governmental administration.

A second fight broke out in the establishment's parking lot early Monday morning, leading to disorderly conduct charges for Alberto Velasquez Perez, 26, of Brewster, NY; Elebis Bone Rangel, 42, of Danbury, CT; Washington Banchon Alvarado, 23, of Danbury, CT; and Jonathan Godoy Morocho, 33, of Nelsonville, NY.

During the response, deputies also addressed a pedestrian incident where a 32-year-old man from Pawling, NY, allegedly backed his vehicle into a woman, causing minor injuries. The driver, Edwin Perez Ramirez, was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and possession of an open container in a motor vehicle.

Separately, a joint impaired driving enforcement detail conducted by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Carmel Police Department resulted in several other arrests for driving while intoxicated, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal contempt.
