Two‑time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu attended an organ‑donation awareness programme in Visakhapatnam on Indian Organ Donation Day. Fresh from becoming the first Indian to win the Japan Open Super 750 title, she supported the Andhra Pradesh government’s Jeevandan initiative, urging the public to spread awareness and describing organ donation as a "life‑saving gift" that offers hope to many families.

State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav thanked Sindhu for her participation, saying her presence would inspire more families of brain‑dead patients to consider donation and help save lives across the state.
