PVEM says no cover‑up for Puebla mayor after police chief arrest

Ecologist Green Party of Mexico (PVEM) leader Jaime Natale Uranga announced that the party will not shield Chietla municipal president Edgar Ponce Cortés following the detention of his public‑security secretary on accusations of ties to organized crime. Natale emphasized that “no one is above the law,” promised to cooperate with investigators and said he will meet the mayor to assess the situation.

Separately, PVEM state head José Alberto “Pepe” Couttolenc Buentello highlighted the party’s strategy of recruiting trusted leaders who have demonstrated results. He noted that more than 100 political, business and community leaders have joined the party since 2025, strengthening its connection to citizens in Mexico State and reinforcing its future growth.
