PVEM supports reforestation and circular economy initiatives in Mexico
The Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) has engaged in various environmental initiatives across the country. In the State of Mexico, the party joined a National Reforestation Day across all 125 municipalities. This effort, supported by the federal government under President Claudia Sheinbaum and the state government under Governor Delfina Gómez, focuses on forest recovery and natural resource conservation. Party leader José Alberto Couttolenc Buentello emphasized the importance of monitoring the survival and growth of newly planted trees to ensure long-term success.
Additionally, the PVEM has expressed support for circular economy policies, highlighting the benefits of reducing environmental and economic costs. The party noted the success of the ‘Gol por el Ambiente’ campaign led by the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa), which collected nearly 20,000 kilograms of used clothing and supplies for recycling and reuse. The party advocates for the implementation of the General Law of Circular Economy to create a unified framework for sustainable government actions and to combat waste accumulation caused by excessive consumption.
