PVEM weighs independent run in Nuevo León for 2027 elections

The Ecological Green Party of Mexico (PVEM) is evaluating its political strategy for the 2027 elections in Nuevo León. State leader Édgar Salvatierra indicated that the party has not yet decided whether to run in an alliance or compete independently for the governorship, local deputy seats, and mayoralties.

Salvatierra highlighted Senator Waldo Fernández as a strong candidate for the governorship, suggesting he is a superior profile to current figures like Clara Luz Flores. While the party has not had recent contact with Morena, it remains open to alliances with other political entities.

In Campeche, former PVEM leader Rafael Montero has raised questions regarding the party's leadership and its alliance with Morena. Montero asserted that Jessica Mayor remains the legitimate state leader and noted that the future of the Morena-PVEM alliance depends on upcoming national-level agreements.
