PVTrans expands international fleet with acquisition of PVT Opal

PVTrans, through its subsidiary PVT Logistics, has expanded its international maritime fleet by acquiring the PVT Opal, an Ultramax bulk carrier. The vessel, built in Japan, has a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 61,456 and measures nearly 200 meters in length.

Immediately following its acquisition, the PVT Opal was deployed on a contract to transport grain from Canada to India. This acquisition marks the third vessel added to the PVTrans fleet in 2026, following the addition of two LPG carriers. With this latest addition, PVTrans now manages a total of 68 vessels with a combined deadweight tonnage of approximately 2.1 million DWT.
