PwC Japan and ServiceNow launch AI-driven autonomous security services

Major technology and consulting firms are launching new AI-driven services to combat the increasing speed and scale of cyberattacks facilitated by AI agents.

PwC Japan has introduced a service designed to restructure cybersecurity operations around an AI-first model. The approach aims to transition from human-centric processes to an “AI-driven x human-governed” model. This service utilizes proprietary AI agents to cover security tasks ranging from routine governance and risk assessment to active monitoring and incident response. The model emphasizes that while AI handles detection and execution, humans remain responsible for critical decision-making and accountability.

ServiceNow has announced its “Autonomous Security” vision, featuring six integrated solutions aimed at achieving machine-speed, proactive cyber defense. The suite includes tools for unified exposure management, continuous vulnerability detection, and agentic incident response. ServiceNow’s strategy, termed “Shift Zero,” focuses on moving from fragmented, reactive security to a preventative model where all systems, identities, and AI agents are governed in real-time to prevent exposure before threats can lead to breaches.
