PwC report: AI is rapidly changing entry-level job requirements
A report titled ‘Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Entry-Level Work’, published by the World Economic Forum and PwC, indicates that artificial intelligence is rapidly altering the skills required for early-career roles. Approximately 39% of required labor market skills are expected to change by 2030 due to AI and other macro trends.
In occupations most exposed to AI, the pace of skill evolution for entry-level positions is nearly double that of experienced employees. Research suggests that closing the gap between education and market needs could increase productivity in OECD countries by 3% to 4%.
The report identifies a dual blockage: educational systems are designed for stability and long-term curricula, making them unable to adapt to technologies that evolve every few months, while employers are still experimenting with AI and have not yet established clear requirements for what constitutes being ‘AI-ready’.
