PwC US and PwC India to form consulting joint venture
PwC US and PwC India have agreed to form a joint venture that combines PwC India’s consulting business with PwC US’s offshore acceleration centers in India. The deal, which is expected to finalize in the first half of 2027, will create a platform of approximately 40,000 employees.
Under the terms of the agreement, PwC US will hold a 51.1% stake, while PwC India will hold 49.9%. Despite the minority ownership, PwC India will maintain operational control of the joint venture. The new entity aims to integrate market relationships and industry expertise to better serve US-headquartered enterprises with global capability centers in India.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Competition Commission of India. The scope of the joint venture is limited to consulting and acceleration services; PwC India’s audit, tax, transactions, and government advisory businesses will remain separate from this new entity. JSA Advocates and Solicitors provided legal counsel to PwC India for the transaction.
