PWHL San Jose signs Sloane Matthews and Tia Chan

PWHL San Jose has signed forward Sloane Matthews and goaltender Tia Chan to three-year professional contracts. The agreements will keep both players with the team through the 2028-29 season.

Matthews, a former standout at Ohio State University, joins the roster following a career that included a 2024 NCAA championship. She recorded 104 points in 161 collegiate games.

Chan, who played for the University of Connecticut, was named the NCAA Women’s Goaltender of the Year. She joins Corinne Schroeder and Abbey Levy as one of the team's goaltenders. With these signings, PWHL San Jose now has 16 players under contract.

Additionally, the franchise has commenced ticket sales. Following a presale period for deposit holders, tickets are expected to become available to the general public. The team will play its home games at the SAP Center.
