PWHL to feature on CBC’s ‘Hockey Night in Canada’ for 2026-27 season
The Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) has reached an agreement with the CBC to feature eight Saturday night games on the iconic ‘Hockey Night in Canada’ program during the 2026-27 season.
This broadcasting shift follows the expiration of a sub-licensing agreement between the CBC and Rogers Communications, which previously allowed the CBC to air NHL broadcasts. While the CBC retains ownership of the ‘Hockey Night in Canada’ brand, the league will now take center stage on the public broadcaster’s Saturday night schedule.
The PWHL’s fourth season, which includes 12 teams following recent expansion, is set to begin in early December. The inaugural broadcast under this new arrangement will feature the reigning champion Montreal Victoire hosting an expansion team from Hamilton on December 5.
