Pyeongtaek City to host senior hip hop live performance

Eight senior women, with an average age of 77, will perform a hip hop live show titled ‘My Story on the Rhythm for Seniors’ at the Jisan Chorok Library in Pyeongtaek on November 7. The event serves as the finale for a five-month program part of the ‘2026 Humanities on the Road’ project, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korean Library Association.

The participants, including one 86-year-old, engaged in a self-expression humanities program where they wrote about their life experiences and converted those stories into rap lyrics. The performance will feature their personal narratives set to jazz and hip hop beats. The event will also include special performances by rapper and instructor Lee Kyu-hwan and the fusion jazz band Listrio.
