Pyeongtaek City to reorganize administration for one-stop civil service

Pyeongtaek City is implementing a major administrative reorganization to prioritize civil service and complaint management. The city plans to establish a new Civil Service Bureau and a One-Stop Complaint Division to streamline processes. This move aims to reduce the burden on citizens who previously had to navigate multiple departments to resolve issues.

The new structure will consolidate functions currently scattered across various departments, such as the Administration and Urban Housing bureaus, into a single cohesive unit. The One-Stop Complaint Division will be responsible for receiving complaints, coordinating between relevant departments, and providing integrated feedback to citizens. This reorganization will expand the city's organizational structure from 1 office, 8 bureaus, and 81 divisions to 1 office, 9 bureaus, and 82 divisions.

Additionally, Mayor Choi Won-yong will introduce a direct communication channel titled ‘Ask the Mayor’ on the city's website to handle unresolved or recurring issues. The city also plans to host evening and weekend town hall meetings to better engage with working professionals, youth, and small business owners. This shift marks a transition from focusing primarily on large-scale development projects to addressing the daily living needs and infrastructure gaps of the growing city.
