Pyeongtaek opens Godeok 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center

Pyeongtaek City held an opening ceremony for the Godeok 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center on January 30. The new facility was constructed with a total project cost of 26.4 billion won and covers a total floor area of 3,707 square meters.

Godeok 1-dong is characterized as a young and dynamic area, with an average resident age of 33.4 years, the lowest in Pyeongtaek. The center will serve a population of approximately 33,797 residents across 15,017 households. The facility will be staffed by 18 employees, including the dong head, to manage administrative tasks for 25 tong and 174 ban.

Mayor Choi Won-yong stated that the center is expected to function as an open communication space in addition to providing close administrative support to the rapidly changing Godeok International City. While administrative services have already commenced, internal spaces designated for resident communication are scheduled to be fully opened to the public in January 2027.
