PYMNTS B2B event focuses on the agentic enterprise

The seventh annual PYMNTS B2B Payments event, titled ‘The Agentic Enterprise’, is scheduled to run from October 5 through October 14. The event focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence within corporate structures.

PYMNTS CEO Karen Webster suggests that the agentic enterprise is not a future concept but a current reality, noting that the primary distinction lies in how deeply AI is embedded within organizational workflows. While many companies have moved past experimentation with generative AI, research indicates a gap between deployment and integration.

Data from PYMNTS Intelligence shows that while enterprises now use AI across an average of seven out of eight business functions, only 20% of surveyed AI deployments are actually embedded into core workflows. Despite this, adoption is accelerating; 62% of surveyed enterprises are spending more than $10 million on AI tools, and 90% of CFOs have reported positive returns from AI applications.
