Pyrenees region to host nature festival and forestry events in September 2026

The Pyrenees region in France will host several local events in September 2026. The 12th edition of the Festival Pyrénéen de l'Image Nature de Cauterets is scheduled for September 25 to 27. This event features 14 exhibitions, 12 documentary film screenings, 10 conferences, and various workshops focused on biodiversity and wildlife photography.

In the Hautes-Pyrénées, the road leading to Lac de Payolle will be closed on September 18 and 19, 2026, due to the Forestière festivities. During this period, access from the restaurants to Arcoch will be restricted, with shuttle services provided from parking areas to accommodate visitors. The festivities will highlight forestry skills, including timed sawing and axe-cutting competitions.
