Pyrgos: One dead and five injured in fatal traffic accident

A fatal traffic accident occurred at the Lampetiou intersection on the Patras-Pyrgos National Road in Pyrgos, resulting in the death of a cyclist and injuries to five other individuals.

Preliminary investigations suggest the collision happened when a vehicle traveling from the Lampetiou area attempted to cross the national road perpendicularly, resulting in a side-impact collision with another vehicle traveling from Pyrgos toward Ancient Olympia. The cyclist was caught in the collision and sustained severe injuries; despite medical efforts, the individual passed away. The five injured persons were transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Traffic authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and how the cyclist became involved.
