pyropower GmbH plans major expansion of pyrolysis technology

Cottbus-based pyropower GmbH is planning a significant expansion of its production and engineering capacities. The technology company specializes in decentralized pyrolysis plants that convert woody residues into electricity, process heat, and biochar.

Having already operated eleven plants across seven locations in Germany and Switzerland, the company aims to increase standardization to manage multiple industrial projects simultaneously. Managing Director Lucie Töpfer stated that the goal is to scale capacities to implement projects with a higher degree of standardization.

Financially, the company is on a growth trajectory. In 2025, pyropower reported a revenue of 9.08 million euros and a net profit of 1.32 million euros. The company’s strategic planning targets a revenue of 38.8 million euros by 2029. To support this growth, Managing Director Sebastian Kießling noted that the company is focusing on scaling manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain management to facilitate serial production.
