Pyrotechnic accidents cause severe burns in Ahome and Villa de Pozos
Multiple pyrotechnic accidents in Mexico have resulted in severe injuries. In Ahome, Sinaloa, an 11-year-old boy sustained third-degree burns covering approximately 40 percent of his body, including his arms, chest, neck, and face. The incident occurred in the Bacorehuis community when a firework came into contact with gasoline during a fuel transfer. The child is receiving specialized care at the Los Mochis General Hospital, with the Club Shriners monitoring his condition and considering a potential transfer to Sacramento, California, for further treatment.
In Villa de Pozos, another individual suffered third-degree burns to the right arm due to the use of fireworks. Local Civil Protection provided first aid and accompanied the victim to a clinic. Authorities have issued warnings against using pyrotechnics in crowded areas or near children to prevent permanent injury or death.
