Pyxis Tankers reports Q2 profit of $2.8 million
Pyxis Tankers returned to profitability in the second quarter of 2026, reporting a net income of $2.8 million. This marks a significant turnaround from the $2 million net loss recorded during the same period in 2025. Net revenues for the quarter rose 32.6% year-on-year to $12.1 million, driven by improved charter rates across the company’s dry bulk and product tanker fleets.
The company’s earnings per share (EPS) of $0.27 exceeded analyst consensus estimates of $0.20. CEO Valentios Valentis attributed the strengthened market conditions to grain and coal trades, longer-haul Atlantic-to-Asia routes, and changing commodity-sourcing patterns that supported tonne-mile demand.
Operationally, the dry bulk fleet saw an average daily time charter equivalent rate of $20,245, a 57.7% increase over the previous year. The medium-range product tankers achieved an average daily rate of $21,899 with 100% fleet utilization. While the company expects some freight premiums to moderate, it anticipates continued benefits from trade dislocation and refinery margins.
