PZL Mielec completes major Black Hawk helicopter delivery to Philippines

PZL Mielec has completed the delivery of 32 S-70i Black Hawk multi-role helicopters to the Philippine Air Force. The final batch of seven aircraft was officially accepted during a ceremony at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

This delivery concludes the largest single order for S-70i Black Hawks in the history of PZL Mielec's production. The contract, signed in February 2022, was valued at approximately $624 million. Combined with a previous 2019 contract for 16 helicopters, the Philippines now operates a total of 47 Black Hawks produced in Mielec, making it the largest user of the S-70i model globally.

The helicopters are intended to replace aging UH-1N Huey models and are utilized for various missions, including tactical exercises, humanitarian response, jungle warfare, and disaster relief operations.
