PZL Mielec to produce F-35 electrical harnesses and Black Hawk components

PZL Mielec, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, has secured two major aerospace production programs. The facility in Poland will manufacture 287 types of electrical harnesses for the F-35 Lightning II multirole fighter. These harnesses, which utilize both traditional electrical connections and advanced fiber optic technology, are critical for power transmission and signal communication between onboard systems. The plant aims to produce approximately 13,000 harnesses annually, involving the assembly of over 90,000 connectors.

The first deliveries for the F-35 program are scheduled for July 2027. In addition to the F-35 project, the company is launching a second program to produce cockpit structures for the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.

To support these expansions, PZL Mielec will invest in infrastructure, equipment, and workforce training. The investment is supported by the Industrial Development Agency (ARP) through the Polish Investment Zone, which provides an income tax exemption valued at approximately 17 million PLN. The facility already participates in producing F-16 Block 70/72 fuselage structures for Lockheed Martin.
