Cracovia disputes refereeing decisions in Legia Warsaw match

Cracovia has officially requested an explanation from the Polish Football Association (PZPN) regarding controversial refereeing decisions during their 1-1 draw against Legia Warsaw. The dispute centers on an 86th-minute incident where Karol Knap fell following contact with Arkadiusz Reca. While Cracovia players and coach Bartosz Grzelak suggested a penalty was warranted, the PZPN Referee Committee ruled the decision to play on was correct, describing the incident as mere “boot-to-boot” contact with insufficient dynamics to cause a fall.

Cracovia President Murat Colak confronted referee Piotr Lasyk on the pitch following the match. In an official communication, the club called for a meeting with all Ekstraklasa club presidents to develop systemic solutions, citing a recurring issue with officiating throughout the season. The club has also proposed that VAR officials for Ekstraklasa matches be replaced by international FIFA referees to ensure impartiality and credibility.
