Qalyubia Governor inspects food reserves and price reduction initiative
Hossam Abdel Fattah, the Governor of Qalyubia, has conducted field inspections to monitor food supply stability and the implementation of a price reduction initiative. The governor visited Delta Market consumer complexes in Qalyoub and Toukh to ensure that essential goods are available to citizens at discounted rates.
The price reduction initiative, which began in September 2026 and is scheduled to run until March 2027, has expanded from 12 food items to 30 items as of October, offering discounts of up to 25% on various products including poultry, frozen meat, and vegetables.
Additionally, the governor inspected strategic warehouses managed by the General Company for Wholesale Trade in Qalyoub. These facilities include six strategic warehouses and six commodity warehouses, providing a total storage capacity of approximately 24,000 tons. The inspections aimed to verify the readiness of the supply chain and ensure the maintenance of strategic reserves to meet local consumer needs.
