Qantas faces criticism over flight delays following Greg Norman complaint

Golf star Greg Norman has publicly criticized Qantas following a significant delay on a Sydney-to-Dallas flight, which arrived 2 hours and 35 minutes late due to a fueling issue. Norman expressed frustration with the airline's reputation for delays, stating he is now considering other carriers.

This criticism comes as Qantas faces fluctuating reliability metrics. While the airline was ranked as the most on-time major airline by OAG in July, it slipped to the fifth position by September. Despite domestic on-time performance for August reaching 83.5 per cent—outperforming Virgin Australia and Jetstar—the airline continues to struggle with international customer satisfaction, failing to reach the top ten in the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
